Christopher Ruiz is an International Latino Book Award-winning author of horror and speculative fiction living in Central Illinois with his wife and two cats. He is a lifelong devotee of horror across all mediums, classic literature, and baseball.

He was raised in the mountains of Montana as a hunter and hiker, served as a combat veteran and later a crisis responder for a psychiatric facility, and now draws from these experiences to bring naturalism, psychological truth, and real-world horror to his storytelling.

He is the author of the short story collection The Wishing Well. His debut novel, In the Mountains, the Woods, is projected for release in early 2027.
